Abraham Piper Joins Band of Bloggers Panel

Over the past couple of weeks, I was notified by one of our panelists, Mark Lauterbach, of a prior engagement that will preclude his availability for participating on the Band of Bloggers panel discussion. Mark does intend, however, to attend the fellowship, and I am grateful for his leadership in gospel-centered blogging. As a result of this development, I began praying and asking those in the planning of Band of Bloggers who they felt would be best suited to fill Mark’s spot on the panel. Many excellent bloggers were mentioned, but it was evident that one name continued to rise to the top–Abraham Piper.

The “Panel” page provides this short bio sketch of Abraham:

Abraham Piper is the Web Content Editor at Desiring God. He is very fortunate to be able to work from home so he can see so much of his wife and son while he edits and writes for the DG blog, which he, along with others at DG, began just over a year ago. Before working for DG he tried to finish college and didn’t make it. He has since convinced a reputable institution of higher learning to give him a degree in literature and is happy to point out that it only took 11 years and 5 colleges to finally get. He puts this extensive education to work chatting about novels and anagrams and continually trying to develop the DG blog into the most helpful and Christ-exalting blog it can be. esides blogging for DG, he has begun regularly testing the value of extreme brevity at his brand new blog, 22 Words.

Together with Tim, Justin, and Thabiti, Abraham offers a unique perspective on blogging, ministry, and how the gospel drives our content and determines how we respond to others (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). Please join me in welcoming him to this years Band of Bloggers panel, and I look forward to the discussion we will have on “The Gospel Trust!”
